A concrete footing is a narrow slab which is placed along the bottom of a wall. Most houses are built on shallow foundations which are typically called spread footings. Concrete (spread) footings serve two main purposes. First they help “spread” out the load from the structure above. Secondly they create a level stable surface to begin building the foundation above on.

Depending on your soil composition you may be required to place your concrete wall on either a footing, on caissons, or another method to anchor the wall to stable soil. Typical footings are designed and built to print.

Curt Dunning Construction provides the excavation and base preparation steps needed before you can start construction on your driveway.

Like most structures, excavating and preparing a base is required to give your concrete driveway a solid foundation. We take our time when doing this because one little mistake related to the foundation can cause the whole thing to collapse.

As part of your driveway preparation we will:

• Prepare the base by grading with a small tractor
  Crown the drive and provide for proper drainage
  Spread the gravel on the driveway
  Perform proper handwork to provide a 'finished' look

Our heavy duty equipment is capable of hauling a variety of site development and road building materials, including gravel, aggregate, sand, fill dirt, cement, and demolition and construction debris.

Our dump trucks can handle a variety of loads. Topsoil, fill sand, gravel, broken concrete, or other aggregates or debris. In combination with a bobcat or our loader we can handle most residential hauling and grading needs including gravel driveways, excess material disposal, and delivery of fresh topsoil.
